Why think like a monk?

Jay Shetty says that if you want to do something innovative in your life, then you can learn from people like Elon Musk, Bill Gates. If you have stage fear and want to learn how to perform on stage, you can learn from Beyoncé, but if you want to keep yourself and your mind calm, steady and productive, then you should learn from a monk because they are experts in them.

Let’s talk about some topics of the book.

Identity

Identify yourself. Suppose you are standing in front of your mirror but you do not see your face in it because there is a lot of dust in that mirror. Now here that mirror is your identity, all you have to do is remove that dust to see yourself. Jay Shetty says that the only way to build a meaningful life is to filter out that noise and look within.

Negativity

Negativity is everywhere like we keep discussing about the misery of the day except the happiness of the day. We keep doing evil to our friends behind their back. We do not hold back from showing shame to anyone. We compare ourselves to others. We do evil to peoples. Jay says that the more we keep ourselves close to Gossip, Negativity and Conflict, the more we push ourselves into Negativity.

Routine

Above this topic, our day-to-day routine is described and Jay shares some points.

Early to rise

If we get up late in the morning, we program our body to do all our work in a hurry. Due to which high pressure and stress starts forming in our body and due to this we remain in this mood all day. Jay Shetty says that by getting up early in the morning, our whole day is productive so that we are able to give all our time to all our work.

The evening routine

Jay Shetty says that when he was in his ashram, he used to go to sleep at 8 pm and read something before that. He says that if you want your day to be good then you should make your evening routine.

There are many more chapters in the book that will make your heart happy and will lead you to Purpose.

Insight/Review

This is a very beautiful book. If you are a new reader then this can be a must read book for you. The most beautiful thing in the book is what distinguishes this book from other self-help books, its simplicity. The kind of language used in the book is so simple that you will be able to connect with it very easily.

The words of the book are so effective that you will not be able to stop yourself from reading. You will get to learn something from every chapter in the book. Everything in here is just like all self help books. But the difference is that words are described very easily. In the book too, you will get to see the same image of Jay Shetty’s video, if you are very impressed with his video, I am sure that this book will not disappoint you.

The strength of the book is its topics and their solution and above all the manner of presenting them. The book contains the same things that remain in a spiritual self help book. If you are fond of reading self-books, then this book will definitely try to provide you with a reminder on your habit.

The language style of the book was sweet and simple. The words were easy to understand. No hard words to see. Truly, a very impressive book.
